TRÈS HAUTE VITESSE - quarryhs.co.uk

Apr 03, 2009· THV . The story starts in France, with an attempt to produce pistol ammunition particularly intended for police requirements. The stated aim was to achieve good penetration, stopping power and accuracy while achieving a marked drop in recoil and in the "danger to surroundings outside the target"; i.e., a short range. The designer was a Mr ...

Arcane Style mold? - Gunloads.com

May 31, 2013· Well I was wondering if there are any "Arcane" pointed style 9mm molds out there that won't break the bank. Ballisti cast has exactly what I want but not looking to spend 120 bucks on a mold. The most I've spent was 40 on my like new lyman so 120 for a mold is just crazy to me. Didn't know if there were any others out there that had a bullet like #907 in the photo.

Apr 14, 2006· Quick answer - yes. There were the Winchester Super-X High Velocity Metal Penetrating with a 230 gr bullet, slightly pointed and with thick jacket on the nose at 945 fps; and the Remington Hi-Way Master Metal Penetrating with 173 grain solid bullet, probably zinc, at 1140 fps.

Dec 16, 2013· I'd never heard of Dean Grennell or the "THV" before - so I looked it up. The examples I saw were superficially similar to the OP's bullet. More importantly, they were made of solid brass.

2 FW3/22 pillboxes with a difference - Page 2

Mar 09, 2011· To my awareness no bofors 20/25mm guns were used for home defence in the UK. In fact I have never even seen a reference to them anywhere in a ww2 context, and indeed on reading that page it would appear that they are both post WW2 models (apart from the m/40 which I don't think the UK …

How do you determine zoom ( 400mm vs 15x) etc.... | Photo ...

Jan 15, 2008· My understanding is you divide the focal length of the telephoto by the "normal" focal length of your camera, to find the power. For example, with a full frame 35mm camera (either film or digital) having 50mm normal focal length, a 400mm telephoto would be 8 power.

Do any of you use THV rounds for self defence?

Sep 15, 2011· I know it has many cons, first one being a muzzle flash at night, but getting a 32ACP at 2500 fps, makes a huge difference. Because the head is light, it loses energy over distance far quicker, but then again, why would you be shooting someone at 50 metres? 45ACP moves at 2000 fps, very impressive. It seems that they are only freely available in South Africa and still very popular over there.

Finding THV's | The High Road

Aug 30, 2010· I believe the THV ammo went away in the same manner as the Geco 9 mm BAT round. I think the were deemed illegal. I know I used to buy the BAT round from Old Western Scrounger and they came back the last time I tried to order them and they said that the BAT round would no longer be available and this was at least 15 to 20 years ago.

THV and Monad bullets - AR15.COM

Feb 15, 2004· Good article. Interesting that the 'Sentry' bullet is not in common use in the US. Although the terminal ballistics and ability to penetrate windshields, etc. look good, there do not appear to be any data from real world encounters that I can find, at least in the US.

Dec 15, 2009· We were issued some 5.56 made in France in a shape akin to these. They were designed to pierce body armor. My favorite was some 357 we tested, one was Teflon coated 357, that I suspect could be shot through the robber glass in a bank and reloaded....the other one had an explosive charge in the nose also 357.
